When I reviewed this restaurant the first time I gave them five stars. My opinion has not changed in the last nine months. Fratelli's is your classic local Italian restaurant. Nothing fancy but the vibe is definitely old school. The servers are warm and very friendly. They remember who you are and greet you by name. I never had poor service in this restaurant. Actually the staff is simply part of the old school charm that Fratelli's radiates. The baked clams oregenata are delicious and very fresh. Hands down the best I have had in Florida. The lasagna is amazing and the chicken parmigiano is excellent. This is not a hip trendy restaurant but they make delicious classic Italian dishes. And they do it the right way. I'm so picky about everything and I have never had one complaint about anything in this restaurant. Over the last few months I have heard that they made some management / owner changes. I had the opportunity to meet one of the new manager's a few weeks ago. I have to say he was extremely friendly and he was talking to the diners at several tables. I wish I could remember his name because he was awesome. He seemed very excited about managing this restaurant. It was a breath of fresh air to see someone so motivated to provide the best service possible. During season they get very busy with the local Kings Point / Century Village community so I would strongly suggest making a reservation. Especially if your eating early because they have an early bird special that attracts a large crowd. The prices are very reasonable. The portions are big and I always have leftovers. They make the yummiest garlic rolls that are always hot and fresh. If they have the pasta fagioli soup I highly recommend it. The salad is meh but always cold and fresh. Nothing annoys me more than getting a warm salad. For desert I always go with the cheesecake with raspberry sauce. Delicious! Parking is easy, prices are inexpensive, the food and service are both excellent. Whatever they are doing they are doing it right.

Unfortunately this place has gone down hill fast. Had lunch there a few days ago. Food was mediocre at best. Dont be fooled by the cheap prices --They cut their portion sizes in half. Aside from the poor quality of the food, the place desparately needs a facelift. Sorry but won't be back.

It's an unassuming place in the corner of a strip mall. The portion sizes were ample and the prices were fair. All of the dinners include soup or salad, rolls (garlic or plain), dessert, and a beverage. The service was a bit scattered, but it was both a Friday night and Valentine's Day and every table was full. The garlic rolls was the garlicky-est I've ever had. There were easily a dozen cloves minced and mixed with butter and slathered all over the ten or so rolls brought out for the four of us. Yummy, messy, and oh so pungent! The salad was a fresh and abundant mix of greens and onions and a tomato wedge. The dressing served on the side may or may not have come out of an off brand bottle. The minestrone soup was judged as just so-so. For an entree I chose the meat lasagna and it was hot and flavorful, but (surprisingly) lacking in pasta. There was one thin noodle layer among all of the ground beef, tomato sauce, and cheese. I could have eaten it with a spoon more easily than a fork. For dessert there was a choice of cheese cake, chocolate cake, or spumoni. I chose the later and it was a ball of tricolor ice cream scooped right out of the bulk food container. Accompanied by a cup of coffee, it was a mediocre ending to a so-so meal.

This restaurant is really a great place and this summer $10 special is an excellent value. I had the pork chop with Madeira wine sauce. The salad mashed potato and rice pudding for dessert. Jason is doing a great job!

My experience (about an hour ago) was pretty frustrating. My infant daughter is sleeping and my pregnant wife is having one of those cravings for frutti de mare so I need to get take out. I look up Italian restaurants in the neighborhood on yelp. This place was recently bought by a new owner, who decided to change the prices, but not the menu. I walk in to order, the waiter points me to a menu and I order. While waiting, he charges me different prices and I pay. I then ask why it's so much more. I don't get upset to easy, but when he tells me these are takeout prices, I ask why he handed me the other menu and to show me the take out menu. He goes into the kitchen and comes out 15-20 minutes later with the food and the owner. He says there aren't any available and prints one up for me. The veal parm itself is $4 more and you don't get the beverage or dessert. Anyhow, told the owner I don't mind paying money for good food but hate feeling ripped off and this wasn't a good way to start things off. He's not really too interested in me and If it wasn't for my pregnant wife I would have left without paying or without the food. The food is marginal, probably wouldn't go back anyhow, but with the overcharging I'll never go back. Hope my wife appreciates what I put up with...

This place was the worst we have eaten in South Florida! We were seated and eventually the drink order was taken. The drinks were delivered When we asked the waited for bread he said t"hey were still in the oven". Ten minutes went by and he told us it "was out of his hands"! Still no bread! Then we waited for another 20 minutes and the food was not served. I asked the waiter to please check on our order? He told us it was taking a long time for the cheese to melt in the eggplant . Another 20 min. the food arrived and it was not hot and mediocre. No one cared or apologized for the delay. Save your time, money and appetite for another restaurant!

The Pizza is better then Good! Great Pizza is Umbertos on Long Island, but for Florida, and Delray Beach, it is the best around! The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, and the food is very good. The choices are nice and everything always tastes fresh, without having to wait long. The staff are wonderful,, and provide excellent service. I have lived in the area for 7 years, and just found iit about 6 months ago. Being 50% Italian, 50% Greek, I enjoy finding new places to eat. It's not my Italian Grandmothers basement, where she cooked like 10 people were coming over for dinner, or hung her homemade pasta to dry, but it is good, and I highly reccomend Fratellis!

A great little Italian joint in west Delray. Very good deals on lunch and dinner. Very friendly owners and excellent service. You can get a good meal here every time. Great music/ambiance in an old-time NY way. I like this little place. Check it out.

Wow after reading some reviews I figured this place must be pretty good.NOT. What a joke, very disorganized. Those who did review need to get a checkup or go to walgreens and pick up some breath rite nasal strips so they can really taste the food, don't bother to make a reservation because they are clueless when it comes to holding up their end of the bargain as people who showed up after we did simply barged right through. It is amazing how some people think this is a good restaurant , you people need to go and spend an extra buck at a real Italian restaurant. Oh and by the way, I won't be kissing my son goodnight because he is still throwing up the so called great pizza they serve.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
